Word balloons

Bubble has a bit of a speech delay, so a lot of the focus of our day is verbal activities and building vocabulary. This is a great game that she really enjoys and gets the words flowing. She chooses a balloon and we blow it up then cover it with different picture stickers (you could also glue or tape pictures cut from magazines etc... instead). Try to use pictures of things your child doesnt know or needs practice pronouncing. Throw the balloon or hit it with flyswats back and forth to each other, and whichever picture is facing up when you catch it you have to name it. If your child doesnt know what the picture is, you can prompt them to ask "what is it" or "help".
